Munich is famous for their annual Oktoberfest, the world's largest Volksfest. It is usually held from the end of September until early October. Fun fact, Our plan to Europe was all started because of Oktoberfest so we worked out our plan to go there in October. It was worth it and it was surely a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

"Do you need tickets to get in there?" "I don't drink beer, it won't be fun if I go."

No and no.

No entrance fee is needed. You can just get in there and feel the vibe. For any other activities, it all depends on how much you want to spend. Pero, it is hard to not to buy souvenirs, play games, get some snacks and smash some beer! We were having the best time of our lives.

On the other hand, you may have heard that it is hard to reserve a table/seat in the tents at night. It's true, as it was the time that people have been waiting for. That is why you need tickets for reserving tables at night. I was an idiot when I was finding an exit in a tent, I had no clue that area was for VIP, I bumped in and the security guard kicked me out LOL. Then a guy passed by and just laughed at me and said "You wish you could get in there." but he was nice enough to invite us to their table. If you go there earlier in the morning or afternoon, you can definitely have a seat in the tents and enjoy.

Oh, I don't like drinking beer too but it's nice to try a sip and enjoy the atmosphere. The size of the beer is huge though. It was fun taking photos with it. The beer was surprisingly better than I thought. It was not so bitter and it had a nice smell and hint of malt. Imagine drinking it in a hot weather, ahhhh, qué guay!

Anyway, you don't have to feel guilty about not drinking beer. It is a carnival which is family-friendly so you can just get on a ride, eat a german sausage and HAVE A BALL!

Now, here we go on the journey of my first experience at Oktoberfest!

We had our breakfast at hostel and we were ready to take off! It was such a nice weather. We could walk to the venue from our hostel as it was pretty close, around 17 mins. There were so many people who were dressed up, going to the same direction along the way. AL FIN! We arrived! It was a carnival, massive and eye-opening. We couldn't keep up with all the things happening at once.

"Look, you can get your name on the wooden key chain!", "omg, that looks delicious, should we get some?", "wow, there are SO MANY tents!" We just couldn't wait to explore.

The tents were all decorated and looked superb. So impressive. It took time to walk through the whole venue. To be a true tourist, I got myself a hat, a gingerbread heart and get on a ride haha. It was so fun!

It was a sunny day. We were drained out after getting too excited for all the things we saw. We decided to choose a tent and get a beer!

The tent we went in was splendid. It had its own theme. The band was playing, many people were drinking beer, eating pretzels and chatting. We randomly got a seat and then we ordered two beers when the waitress passed by. I mean, the waitresses looked so pretty, like a fairy! They hold a basket of pretzels for sale on the spot too.

The beer had arrived. I reckon it was 11 euros per cup. It was cool enough to fix the heat and thirst. OK, but here's the story.

I am always beer-intolerant. My face gets super red after drinking alcohol. As usual, it went red after drinking a few sip. Then, my heart started beating fast and I felt like there's something wrong with my stomach. I ended up going to the bathroom...

My friend was so worried about me. Luckily, I felt so much better after the bathroom run. We decided to go back to the hostel and take a break first. Thank god the hostel was close to the venue. We slept in for an hour, it was such a good sleep. I felt like I was in a coma!

Before going back for a second round, we went to an Asian restaurant and got a quick dinner. It was nice and cheap, also a good fix for my misfortune to beer. After that, we were ready to get back to the venue and have the ultimate nighttime experience at Oktoberfest. Here we go!

It was a whole other world at night. The splendid lights that made the tents look even more fascinating. We started our tent hop-offs right here.

The vibe was incredible. The music was loud and strong, people dancing, singing and screaming. Definitely like a massive party. I have never felt this hyper before, the energy there just got you moving. There was a tent that was totally like a concert. The band was at the centre and heating up the party. And there was one that let you slow dance with your companies. So much variations but all amazing at the same time.

The night was young but we were not LOL. It was about 10 PM. We felt exhausted so it's time to leave. We had such a great time there. Spending a day at Oktoberfest was absolutely a highlight of the trip. You don't need me to tell you a thousand times to go there at least once in your lifetime.

I also have a video up of the food tour on YouTube. Check it out here!

Enough talking, it is on your bucket list now!
